*Paul actually takes a half step back when the kid snarls at him like that, but after that stands his ground, though the kids behavior as well as the unnatural chill that follows Jei's slight changes clearly unnerves him at first, he's quick to shake it off, though as he watches Jei fully shift he's more than happy to let himself shift over slightly to his more natural form as well, his nails and fangs lengthening and his eye color slowly bleeding over to red streaked with gold, though he holds the changes back at that, not wanting to risk upsetting Jei by giving in fully, but wanting the protection of his own claws and fangs*

*he regards Jei with a bit more respect, tilting his head as he looks him over, noting with some surprise the change in height among everything else, he hadn't expected that. He nods, suppressing a slight twitch at the sound of the kid's voice now, it nearly reminds him in some ways of Max's when he's very pissed off at Paul or the other Boys*
