Turn
*huddles at a window, his blind eyes turned out to the sultry California night*
[[Private; hackable to friends]]
The air here... so thick with strange smells, and the sounds, the creatures, so alien.....
..This world is new.....
..and afraid.
It fears the devil in the blackness, the evil that winds around its feet. It reeks of tears and sweat. So thick I can almost.... see.....
Such a wicked place. And yet.... I am here.
[[/private]]
Heh.
Heh. Heh heh.... heh heh heh heh heh.....
..Vivi. You should stay inside.
[[With Jei's disability and unique perceptions, it's taken him a few days to orient himself. Feel free to notice that his handwriting is very creepy and disturbing.]]

... Jei... You ok?

*turns slightly, half facing Paul, of whom he is aware as a live thing that is yet not alive, a creature that moves and thinks but may or may not be possessed of a soul*
Life is such a strange thing.....

... Yah, it often is. *shrugs, leans against the wall* What of it?
*in person*
Re: *in person*
Technically, or Medically? Technically very much yes, even if Muggle Medical knowledge... Or even Wizarding medical knowledge would say otherwise to a small degree...
Though more accurately to answer that, one would have to first figure out a definition for 'life'... Is it knowledge of ones self? Morality? ... *quiet chuckle* Perhaps having or not having a 'soul'?
But then one has to ponder what it beans to have a 'soul'... Let alone a sense of morality.
*pauses for a moment*
So, you see..? It gets very complicated. *slight shrug* Whatever it is that is 'me', or perhaps my 'soul'? It hasn't changed, I am still me, just as I was before... A little different, But still me... So regardless of what Medical knowledge tells me else wise, Yes, I'm as alive as I ever was, perhaps more so than before.
*quiet laugh* Odd question for a kid. But does my answer make any sense?
Re: *in person*
An animal is alive. It has fear and spite, but it doesn't have a soul. But you... and Halliwell... you are both different. *pauses for a moment, but can't figure out how to explain the difference in what he senses about the vampires*
It sounds like something that makes sense. But I cannot tell.
..Is morality like purpose?
[[He uses Piper's last name because that's how he was brought up... as well as with the idea of animals having no souls.]]
Re: *in person*
... Are you so sure Animals don't have souls? *he asks with gentle seemingly idle curiosity, he doesn't actually care, or even hav much of an opinion on it, but it's usually considered a 'delicate' question* After all, back to 'what is a soul', that they should lack one...
*slight smile, very quiet laugh* And me and Piper are different... I wish she wasn't, but not much can be done about the past... Anyway, being neither fully human or quite just 'animal', that leaves us in a precarious balance of sorts... Having souls, but doing the things one has to in order to survive... Makes us perhaps more, perhaps less than your average human would lead you to believe. But I'm not even sure there was a questrion in there about that...
*slight grin* I suppose Morality is like purpose... Though it is also very different, Morality merely tells you things, more like instinct, what is 'right', what is 'wrong', things like that... Purpose is a bit more than mere instinct.
