*stands in the middle of the room he's been sharing with Vivi, holding a sheet of parchment -- and instinctively shies away as the very official-looking owl on the windowsill takes a swipe at him with one claw*

It was the owl I sent... someone was watching.... no, I'm not paying you -- go away!

*a few muffled noises come through the journal -- the owl has taken exception to Jei's ultimatum and swooped at him just as he whipped the top-sheet off his bed to shield himself; scraps of cloth fly everywhere and the letter floats down to the floorboards, its heading printed prominently in lavender ink... Wizarding Child Services: Notice of Default.*


[[The owl I didn't have a chance to post about was for Fiver, carrying a tiny box woven from sea grass and containing a small curly shell. Jei forgot to write a note to accompany it, but he's been tracked down all the same.

My classes start in another week, along with what will likely be a major hiatus for me and my characters, so this is the sound of plot threads quietly being tied up before that time. *eyedart*]]

*pauses and regards Jei quietly for a moment, sighs quietly and shrugs with a half-grin* Sure... If that's what you'd prefer...
*unwraps one of the small alcohol wipes, pauses as he has a thought* ... Have you worked with Muggle first aid supplies before..?

*it sounds like such a silly question to him... But knowing what little he does of Jei's up-bringing he has to wonder*

*winces and can't help but wonder what the hell they'd done to Jei in 'treating' his wounds, antiseptics stung, but not quite bad enough for the reaction Jei was giving, at least in his mind, he tenses as he forces himself not to think much on it, nor what he'd now overly enjoy doing to the poor excuse for 'caregivers' Jei had before, he shoves all that aside mentally and kneels down next to Jei*

... It'll sting a bit, but nothing too bad... Though if you think you'd be okay... You could just run your hand under cool water, 's what I do, i just don't want it to get worse...

*concerned, though is still a little hesitant at Jei not wanting him to help tend to it, though he supposes he understands, especially since Dwayne made such a 'shining' example of their sense of restraint when the castle screwed with their memories... And lately he's been wondering if despite his own resolve, if he shouldn't be more careful... though he's sure it's just self-doubt making him think such lately...*

*isn't really getting a bloodlust vibe from Paul, though he doesn't quite understand why -- after all, wasn't that what vampires were supposed to do? -- but he still wants to do it himself, and at this point it's less about safety and more about being allowed control over his environment*

Tell me how and I can do it. I can do a lot of things by touch.

*nods* I can explain it I suppose, it's pretty basic... And no, it doesn't all hurt, just the stuff you use to disinfect the scratches... This stuff... *holds out the small alcohol wipe so Jei can take it* The rest actually doesn't feel to bad at all...

And you'll just want to lightly wipe that damp cloth over the scratches and clean away the blood with it... It'll sting, but not too much so...

*following his instructions, hisses at the sting -- he'd always thought it had stung because his keepers wanted it to, and it's interesting to find out it stings anyway*

*rubbing a bit too hard* I think I got all of it....

*winces at the Jei being a bit too rough, twitches and nearly moves to help him but holds back*

A little more carefully... *his tone is quiet* But yah, you seem to have gotten most all of it... Next you'll wanna put the antibiotic stuff on it, that'll be sure it doesn't get infected or anything... *he picks up a small foil packet of antibiotic cream and opens a corner of it, looking over the packet as he holds it out to Jei*

... One of the corners of the packet is the open part... and this part actually should soothe it a bit, it has a bit of lidocane in it, which will help with the slight pain...
