*journal dangles from bruised, listless fingers as he stares blindly toward the ceiling, lip curled faintly over his teeth, shuddering faintly every now and then as Skelegro and nerve potions work their wonders on his fragile form*

Jei's frown deepens. So much kindness has come his way since arriving at Hogwarts, and he isn't sure how to handle it, but he clings a bit to Momo's hand, a solid connection to someone else. "Sometimes it works," he admits, a bit sullenly. "And I know. Professor Fish said the same thing."

Momo smiled as she felt Jei's thin fingers tighten around hers. "Right. And if you really want to go, ask me to come too. I wont say anything, I'll let you do it all by yourself. I'll just keep an eye out so this wont happen again." Turning back to her gift she uncovered some chocolate from it's fancy tinfoil cover. "Here, have some chocolate. It'll cheer you up."

His mouth twisted, a bit too ironically for his eleven years. "It's harder to sneak two into the Forest. But..." but you brought me chocolate. The mere smell was enough to drive some of the sadness out of his mind. His face still turned away, he fumblingly accepted the gift. "Thank you."
